and civic care in New York City.
Produced FOR DRUM + SPEAR, in partnership with the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development, the series follows organizers, intervention workers, and community leaders working within the City’s Crisis Management System. Through interviews, field documentation, and narrative structure, the project reframes violence prevention through proximity, trust, lived experience, and the people doing the work on the ground.

THE RENAISSANCE follows Omar Jackson of Stand Against Violence East Harlem as he reflects on community presence, interruption, and the work of restoring safety from within the neighborhood.
TWIN PARKS centers Shaheed Robinson and John Dunnell of BronxConnect / Release The Grip, tracing how trust, mentorship, and proximity become tools for violence prevention in the Bronx.
